Today in Magic Singing Class, we learned the Staying Warm Inside Song. I already knew it a little bit from listening to Number-dad, but it's good to learn it for real. It's a really good song for winter and everybody wishes we learned it in DECEMBER, but VV-teacher didn't think we were ready. When you sing it, it makes your INSIDE really warm, and if you have a coat then you can stay warm for a long time. If you don't have a coat, or maybe if it's REALLY cold, then you have to keep singing. Maybe by next winter I'll know INTERNAL SINGING and then I can stay warm all the time even with no coat and still be sneaky. But we have to be careful, because Number-teacher says if you sing it wrong, you can get BURNED. I didn't know that, so I felt bad about singing it with the boy with the black robe. It would have been really bad if I burned him! We asked VV-gram if the Staying Warm Inside Song is OK to sing when there's a KITTEN inside, and she said maybe not, which is why Number-teacher did most of the teaching. But the warm purring pillow is still OK.
Sahara and Humboldt and I helped Flower-gram make peanut sauce noodles. Max and Annabelle and Secret helped her make noodles in the afternoon when we were in classes, by cranking the Noodlizer until their ARMS were noodles, and then we helped make the sauce with chicken and shrimp flakes and sprouts and everything. It smelled so good we had to chase people away from the kitchen until it was done. Then everybody from our house and the Cousin House came over, except Zora because she was having fancy restaurant dinner with Ai, but with Secret and her mom and her grams. Some people brought fried tofu on sticks, and some people brought sweet pickled veggies, and some people brought sweet spicy veggies, and we had a NOODLE PARTY. It was really fun and there were lots of peanut sauce kisses and round cuddles and Sahara tried to be ferocious but she was TOO FULL and had to fall over and get kissed by Secret.
Now I'm hiding under the couch and writing, and pretty soon I'm going to sleep here. I like sleeping with all my siblings, but I like LURKING too.
Something really WORRISOME happened at my zoo. The sign by the brain cows says we have a small herd of 11 grownups and 6 calves, but people said they couldn't see all of them, so somebody went to count and there were only 9 GROWNUPS and 4 CALVES. Some of the brain cows ESCAPED and I think they went into somebody's brain! I don't think they'll hurt anybody, because Number-dad and Simoun both have brain cows and their brains are really good, but everybody has to get to decide who lives in their brain. I had to talk to Rathburn-mayor, and lots of other zoo people were there too. Rathburn isn't really a mayor because the zoo isn't a town, but it's big enough we call him that. We decided to make a poster about it letting people know that if their ears go "moo", they shouldn't be scared, but they should come talk to us and we can see about getting the brain cows out if they aren't WELCOME. We had to tell Dragon-mayor too, so he could make an announcement for everybody in his city. I was really scared I would get in trouble for not making the zoo safe, but I didn't. Fairy-mom and Dragon-mom went with me to talk to Dragon-mayor and he wasn't mad. He understands that cows that can jump into people's brains are really hard to keep locked up. I hope whoever's brain they snuck into isn't mad either.
I met that boy with the black robe in the forest again. This time I learned his name is Parsel. We did some more magic fighting practice, and then Humboldt came to help. He had the good idea to take Parsel to the Woof Brothers, who know a lot about fighting because they used to be LAND PIRATES. We sat in Bruno and Beezer's house and drank warm juice and they helped Parsel make some plans to defeat the really terrible people in his Awake World. They helped make plans to get the mean girls to stop bothering him too, but that's harder because he doesn't want to make them cry. The Woof Brothers say that's not his problem because other people's feelings are their OWN problems, but I understand. Even if people are causing trouble, it's no fun to make them sad.
Rose-auncle went to visit Tansy and Edward and all the sheepies and everybody this week. She came back this morning and said that she delivered EVERY ONE of the hugs and kisses we sent with her. Then she gave us all the hugs and kisses the sheep place people sent back and it was a LOT! Everybody was really happy.
Toka found a picture of a white housecat all curled up with an orange put on top of them so "kitty's like EGG" and when they visited, they showed the picture to Fairy-mom and said, "PLEASE?" so Fairy-mom had to curl up and get a big yellow ball put on her, and Toka's Poppy took a picture from up in the kitchen. Fairy-mom said she didn't think she looked like a good egg, because of the green stripes, but Toka said it was "Daddy sauce" which is the green hot sauce their Daddy puts in eggs, so Toka's Daddy had to pretend to eat Fairy-mom all up. Toka laughed so much they fell over and rolled all the way under the bottom shelf in the living room. It was really funny.
This week Hebichi and I fiddled and Bina trumpeted and Elena, that's the big sister of Max and Annabelle's friend Quein, DRUMMED and it was really fun. We did it in the party room at the Gram House, and told people they could come if they wanted, and a bunch DID. It was mostly kids who didn't care that we aren't very good, they just like music and dancing and RUNNING AROUND CRAZY so they were happy. VV-gram and Flower-gram gave them warm choco milk to drink too. Elena was really proud that kids had fun, because she didn't drum for anybody before. She wants to do it again!
I had lots of imaginary dreams that were no fun so I didn't sleep enough and I didn't want to get out of bed to go to fighting class. I had to ANYWAY but then I turned the wrong way when we were practicing forms and crashed with Annabelle so I got scolded, and I got scolded more when I yawned in the middle of sparring and a teacher thought I was going to BITE and I cried. I was so grouchy I didn't do a good job eating breakfast and I was hungry and I said dumb things at school so everybody laughed at me and I almost cried again. It snowed during school so walking home was really ANNOYING and then Simoun smushed me in the snow and I cried again but she didn't notice because she was already tussling with Humboldt. Dmitri gave me lots of hugs when I got home and I ate a lot of lunch but we only had enough cheesecake for everybody to have 1 piece and I DROPPED mine! It fell off the plate and landed upside down on the floor and it was HORRIBLE. Now I'm hiding in my closet with plush bunnies so no more bad stuff can happen. Maybe I'll stay here forever.
Simoun knocked on my door and was really sorry she smushed me in the snow. She wanted to play but she didn't know I was having a REALLY BAD day. We talked about how bad days are really AGGRAVATING because even things that are OK on other days turn horrible. Fairy-mom was there too and she washed my face and I felt better. She saved almost all of my cheesecake and it was still yummy even though it didn't have raspberries on top any more. I gave them both cheesecake kisses. Even when it's a bad day, I love my family.
I was scared of magic singing class because if I make dumb mistakes I might catch on FIRE, but we just practiced the Staying Warm Inside Song and I know that pretty good. I think Morgan wanted to learn new songs, so I felt bad, but I wasn't brave enough to try and Number-teacher was too nice to make me. They think I'm really too much of a baby to learn magic singing now.
It had some OK parts, but it was still a bad day. I hope tomorrow is better.
A really scary thing happened this week. Nessie-auncle and Big Sam said they were thinking about being monster hunters again, because this summer there's going to be a lot of monsters. I think it's because of SUNSPOTS. That's scary because it's really dangerous and they might get hurt or have monster eggs stuck in them or DIE. I don't want that. I don't want Rei and Nico and Zora to not have any parents. Nobody wants other people to get killed by monsters either, but doing dangerous things to help people is still dangerous. Princess Judith was being really brave and good when she helped the sea turtlies, but the mean orca still KILLED her. When Nessie and Sam told everybody, there was a lot of worrying and crying and some yelling. A lot of the yelling was from Zora because she wants to help but she can't go because she isn't a grownup yet. Number-dad gave her a lot of hugs because when he was a teenager he wanted to help fight monsters and was really CROSS that Flower-gram and VV-gram and Nessie-auncle wouldn't let him, but now that he's grown up, he thinks they were right. Nobody is happy, but monsters have to get stopped so they don't eat people. Nessie-auncle and Big Sam are really brave, but it's really scary. Even Humboldt and Sahara think so, and they're the bravest.
I don't know what the right thing is to do, but I don't get to decide because I'm a kitten and they aren't my parents. I just get to worry a lot.
Rose-auncle heard back about her thesis and all the people who read it said it was REALLY GOOD. Now she has to meet some of them and answer a lot of questions about it so they know she really knows it. That's called DEFENDING your thesis. Rose-auncle said they aren't really attacking it, but they want to make sure all of it is strong by poking it and pushing on it and seeing if it falls apart. I said I think it feels like they're attacking when you have to answer the questions, and she said that's probably right but she's a mighty SONGCAT so they can't defeat her! We all cheered for her and gave her more sushi from Beautiful Sushi and Clover gave her mom a MASQUILLION hugs.
FINALLY it's getting warmer. We had some freezing rain which is really yucky and we had to wear big hats and Max wore a scarf because she was worried it would go in her ears and freeze her BRAIN. Then today we had REGULAR rain. It was still really cold but it was water and not ice. I don't think the bunnies like it any better, but they don't know about futures and pasts. I hope it keeps getting warmer because it's almost time for spring birthdays! Lots of people in my family have birthdays on the spring equinox, so it would be really FRUSTRATING if their parties got rained on.
Momo-teacher said there's going to be a band class at school but in the afternoon starting next season, which is really soon now. It might be hard to arrange my other classes but I really want to take it, and so do Hebichi and Bina. It's going to be really fun!
Nobody came to the zoo to ask about brain cows. I don't know if that means the brain cows didn't go into somebody's brain or they went into Number-dad's or Simoun's brain where there are already brain cows, or they're really sneaky and no one noticed them, or the person who has them likes them. I think somebody would tell us if they were causing trouble, but maybe they jumped into the brain of someone who went far away and didn't see the poster. I got Number-dad to help talk to the brain cows in the zoo and they promised they wouldn't jump into anybody's brain who didn't want them, but they don't know where the other ones went. I'm really worried because we didn't keep good track of our animals!
I tried to be happy this week, but it was hard because of worrying about Nessie and Big Sam and Rei and Nico and Zora. I gave them all lots of hugs but I don't know if it helped.
Max and Annabelle were arguing over who's the cutest kitten, but Number-dad said all kittens are the cutest. "Samuel cutest kitten! Max cutest kitten! Annabelle cutest kitten! Clover cutest kitten!" Clover said "GROWNUP cat!" but Number-dad pretend-whispered "Kittens adorable when they pretend like grownups" so Clover had to roar and jump onto him from her high shelf and EAT HIS HEAD. I think it's really funny and cute when big cats do a tussle like kittens. I think that's IRONY because Number-dad said it's cute the other way around.
I jumped up on the shelf and stole the warm spot by Oona and watched the tussle, but when Clover was done she came back and laid down on me like a pillow so I got SQUISHED. Maybe it wasn't a good piracy after all.
Last week Magic Singing class was scary because it was a bad day but today was nice. We did some practice for songs we already know and then Stev asked VV-teacher to make the room colder. She made it colder and colder until even cats with fluffy fur thought it was TOO COLD. Stev sang the Staying Warm Inside Song and he played his harp with it, and the WHOLE ROOM got warm! We all clapped and Morgan gave Stev a kiss on the face and we said how smart he is. He said he's still working on how to make instruments help magic singing, but when he gets good, I want to learn so I can do MAGIC FIDDLING.
When I told Hebichi about it later, they said I better teach them magic fiddling so we can be FIDDLING WIZARDS together. I will, because that will be REALLY GREAT!
Nessie-auncle and Big Sam and Flower-gram and Rose-auncle and Clover-auncle and Zora all went to monster-hunting practice lots this week. They said they're RUSTY and complain a lot about how hard it is and how sore they get from being old, but I bet they're still really fierce. Zora and Clover complain about how the other monster hunters don't take them SERIOUSLY because they're young. I know that's really frustrating, but it makes me feel better that they can't go monster hunting and get killed. My parents talk about going to practice but Max and Annabelle and all of us need lots of CARE so they couldn't go hunting anyway. If they did, I would cry until I turned into a MUMMY. VV-gram goes to practice some, but she can't go monster hunting either. I give her lots of hugs so she doesn't feel left out.
We still haven't heard anything about cows being in anybody's BRAIN. I don't know why, but I hope they aren't making anybody unhappy.
Zora and I went for a walk in the forest in the Dreamlands. It was really nice because I love Zora and I don't get to do things with her as much now that's she's a teenagers II and takes lots of classes and monster hunter class and goes on lots of dates with Ai and other teenagers. She's a really good cousin. We met Parsel and did some MAGIC FIGHTING practice. He's getting lots better, but he can't defeat Zora because she's AMAZING. I think he had trouble fighting a girl who's really pretty too, because he's HUMAN. Zora did a little flirt with him but I looked at her really SHARP until she was sorry. He already has 2 girls being bothersome, he doesn't need any more botheration! After that we went to visit the Woof Brothers and have warm juice. Zora complained a lot because she can't go monster hunting, so Parsel said she could help him, but Bruno and Beezer said they'd tell her PARENTS if she tries to go to another dimension to hunt monsters. She pouted a lot, but we hugged her until she felt better.
It's almost the Spring EQUINOX when lots of people have birthdays. The weather isn't warm yet, but it's sunny lots of days and there isn't any snow left. Even if it rains tomorrow, I think that's good for spring and growing and we can have inside parties. All the wizards in my family have to be ready to do magic in the evening, though.
It's warmer in Dragon-mayor's city. Hebichi and Spin and I went to the park across the street from the skating park. Bobtail Dragon was taking a nap in the sunshine and he was COVERED IN KIDS. They were taking naps on him because he's WARM. My Dmitri and Blond Dmitry and Jean were there, but there wasn't any room left for us. That was a little bit sad, but we went to talk with some people who were showing pictures of a SNOW SCULPTURE contest and it was really cool. Somebody made a snow bunny bigger than a van, with tiny bunnies riding on it! There were castles and mermaids and tree houses and all kinds of really neat sculptures. We all want to try that next year. I think Simoun would really like it too.
Bobtail Dragon woke up and he started to stretch but then he noticed there were kids sleeping all over him and he got REALLY HAPPY. I think everybody who saw that got a WARMER HEART.
I don't know why it took so long, but the dino I gave Spin at Solstice is his dream-helping animal now. Her name is Mazurkasaurus Regina because a mazurka is a kind of dance and regina is the girl form of rex. She isn't a huge dino, but she's as big as Annabelle and she runs really fast and she likes sniffing in Spin's pockets for treats and hissing at anybody who's mean to him. Spin really likes her too! It made me really happy to see them together.
We made pies in baking class this week. It was complicated making the crusts from SCRATCH and doing the crisscrosses and fancies, but my peach pie turned out really BEAUTIFUL and yummy, and I think my lemon custard pie with birdie cutouts on the top crust was nice too. I really like baking even if sometimes I mess up.
We didn't know what kids to play for this week, so we told people we would be at the Gram House again like the last 2 weeks, and Hebichi and Bina and Elena and me played some new songs we learned and some old songs we got better at and Spin and Jean and Blond Dmitry brought kids from their school and we had little kids from our neighborhood and it was a nice music party. We're really looking forward to band class.
I tried doing more PARAGRAPHS this time but I don't know if it's right. I'll practice more.
It's SPRING EQUINOX. Happy birthday to Annabelle and Simoun and Sahara and Dmitri and Humboldt and Rei and Zora and Nessie-auncle and Flower-gram and all the other people who are having their birthday today!
I had a plan for presents but it wasn't a good plan because my artistic vision was TOO AMBITIOUS. I wanted to make everybody their favorite pie, but 9 different pies was too much. It was really frustrating when Fairy-mom said I shouldn't do it, but she was right. Instead I made 10 PURPLEBERRY CUSTARD pies. It was still a lot of work but I could make the filling all at once in the big pot, and made a huge batch of dough and rolled it all out together. It took a lot of ovens so I had to tell my siblings that the pies in our oven were for the cousins, and told Flower-gram the pies in her over were for my siblings and like that. I don't know if I really surprised everybody but it was fun. Everybody liked the pies!
I gave Annabelle a tiara with grey and white jewels that shine in different colors. That's IRIDESCENCE. I gave the twins beret hats that are white to keep the sun off their brains but with fancy embroidery in their colors, and Humboldt a hat like an explorer in an old movie and Dmitri a wide hat with a shiny bronze feather. It's a little bit like a pirate hat but I think it might be a FLIRTING hat. Dmitri is 12 now so I guess it's OK. Humboldt is 13 so he's a TEENAGER but kind of not because songcats don't grow up as fast. Sahara and Simoun are 11 and Annabelle is 7. 7 is a really important age and she's going to go to the tail store and trade her little pointy kitten tail for a big fancy grownup tail! That won't be tonight because Number-dad is really busy with MAGIC but maybe tomorrow night. She's really excited.
This year's theme is things that go on people's HEADS so I gave Flower-gram fancy green ribbons for her long orange hair and Nessie-auncle a sparkly purple tiny hat that sticks to fur. That's called a FASCINATOR because it's supposed to make people look at it while your hands do piracies, and it's purple because Nessie says that makes her green eyes prettier. I wasn't sure what to get Rei because she already has her mushroom hat in the Dreamlands, but then I saw mushroom EARRINGS in a store and they were really weird and cool and purple so I had to get them for Rei, and I got rainbow earrings for Zora so she won't forget I love her even when she's busy doing teenager stuff.
Everybody said they liked their presents so I'm happy. I like giving people good presents. I like giving people birthday kisses too!
It was a good day. There was some cold wind, and lots of clouds, but they were the kind of clouds that look like castles and ships and whales, not one big overcast, and there was sunny blue sky in between. We had a big party in the park with the whole NEIGHBORHOOD and there was barbecuing and teenagers put on flirting clothes because they think spring is a good season for SNOGS and everybody played a lot. There was some volleyball and Hebichi and I did really good and there was lots of chasing and playing with doggies and throwing frisbees and then we went to the park by Spin's neighborhood and I played with Spin and Jeanne and Blond Dmitry and a bunch of their friends. It was really fun.
We had a party for just our family at dinner, and gave the birthday people lots more hugs and all their favorite food and cake and ice cream and we sang for them and gave them kisses. Then all the wizards had to go and do magic to protect the town. Even Humboldt isn't old enough to go, but Zora and Rei are, and VV-gram and Flower-gram and Nessie-auncle, and Dragon-mom and Number-dad and Nico too, so there weren't very many grownups left to take care of kids. That's why I'm being really GOOD and hiding on this shelf and writing and not making any trouble at all.
It was a good equinox day.
In the Dreamlands, Simoun and Max and I took Annabelle to the Cuba food restaurant to get a HAM PORK SANDWICH for her birthday, but we found Octavio-auncle and an ALLYGATOR instead. The allygator was Elevator Alligator and I think he's from a picture book, but now he takes pictures and he wants to take pictures of Annabelle because she is a really pretty kitten and he has a job taking pictures for a catalog of kitten clothes! Annabelle thought that was a great idea because if she is famous then lots more people will know her, but Simoun said she can't do a job without PARENTS, and she was right. I think Lev-artist (that's Elevator Alligator's nickname) is nice and won't try to eat her, but she should still have parents if she's going to work with different grownups. We took Octavio and Lev-artist to Cuba food, and they really liked it, and we talked about lots of stuff. But then Annabelle mentioned going to the tail store, and Lev-artist said it would be better if she still had her KITTEN TAIL for these pictures, so now she's doing worries. Max said she still has her kitten tail for a while, but Lev-artist already found a sphinx kitten model, and now Max says, "New goblet Max FRIEND?" a lot. It's really cute.
We tried to stop her, but Annabelle ran right into the parent room and yelled, "I MODEL!" and then we all had to EXPLAIN and now we don't know until Fairy-mom goes to talk to Octavio-auncle and Lev-artist so Annabelle is in a TIZZY. I was afraid Dmitri might be jealous but he's really PROUD of his big fluffy grownup tail so he doesn't mind if somebody else is a kitten-tail model.
I was really sad when Max leaned on Number-dad and said, "Max no beautiful?" I don't want Max to ever think she isn't beautiful. I know being beautiful isn't the most important thing, but Max looks different than the other kittens so it's important to her. Number-dad is a really good dad so he pish-toshed that a lot and said Max is SPLENDID and explained how the catalog people want all different kinds of kittens so all kittens think those clothes are for them, but maybe the goblet who already got picked to be a model will be no-fur friends with Max. It made her a lot happier!
Tomorrow we're going to start orchestra class! It's at the same time origami class was, because Wolffe-teacher said we know all the important stuff and now we can do origami from BOOKS. I already got 3 books of origami and I want to figure out MAGIC ORIGAMI. Baking and choir and volleyball are still the same, so now I have 2 classes about music. I'm not just a songkitten, I'm a MUSICKITTEN. Someday I'll be a FIDDLING WIZARD.
Rose-gram DEFENDED HER THESIS. She said it was really hard because there were 7 people asking her questions about all different kinds of stuff, but she defeated them all with her POWERFUL BRAIN. Now she's Dr. Rose, or Rose-scholar, just like Big Sam and Edward-gram and Tansy-gram are doctors, but not like Shoe-auncle because he knows medicine. She laid on the floor and made zombie noises because her brain was so WORN OUT, but we got another SUSHI FEAST for her and got lots of grownups to come and have a party because she did so good. HURRAY ROSE-SCHOLAR!
I want to be that smart when I grow up. I don't know what I'll study. I don't think wizards or fiddlers get DOCTORATES.
Our parents went to talk to Elevator Alligator and Octavio-auncle about Annabelle being a MODEL but we all wanted to go too because everybody wanted to see an allygator with a camera and eat ham pork sandwiches with him. Lev-artist brought Brunel, that's the other sphinx kitten who's going to be a model, and his dad and his big brother Isambard. They're TRAIN CATS and they work with the Mole-Wombat Peoples, so they think Number-dad is cool. They don't have good whiskers, because whiskers are a kind of hair, and that makes me sad, but I think their EYES are better because of it. Brunel is really cute and Max likes him lots because he knows about saying "beans" and wearing nice clothes and he's younger than her so she gets to not be the baby. Isambard is the same age as Humboldt, but he's really a teenager because he's not a songcat. I felt left out because I'm IN BETWEEN but then Simoun said I have a zoo and now Brunel and Isambard both think I'm really cool. It's embarrassing but nice. I said they can come to my zoo any time.
It's OK for Annabelle to be a model so we went right to Lev-artist's STUDIO and some clothes-making cats were there too with clothes to show off, and some meerbots because they're Lev-artist's ASSISTANTS. It was a really big place full of lights and reflectors that were all different colors, and lots of furniture and walls and stuff, and tripods with cameras that had BIG LEVERS for an allygator to use. It was really interesting to see how Lev-artist set up lighting and reflectors to make everything bright enough and the right colors to make the clothes look nice, and made Brunel and Annabelle pose in their nice clothes and pretend to tussle or snuggle and or play, but then he still had to take a masquillion pictures and PICK OUT the best ones. I think being a fashion photographer is harder than taking regular pictures.
The meerbot that moved furniture had a shrieky wheel, so Simoun fixed it, and then it showed so many green lights Lev-artist had to tell it to stop messing up the COLOR BALANCE. Simoun's really good with meerbots! Mostly we sat by the edges of the room where we weren't in the way and cheered Brunel and Annabelle and the grownups talked about making clothes and deciding what clothes to make and how much to sell them for and all kinds of BUSINESS stuff. Kittens talked about zoo animals and Exploration Club and Mars and all kinds of fun stuff. Isambard knows about a building that isn't being used that Dmitri and Humboldt might want to get for an Exploration Clubhouse, so they have somewhere to put their GIANT SNAKE SKELETON. Making new friends is really good!
After a long time, Annabelle got tired because she isn't used to posing so much, so we got ice cream for everybody and hamburgers for Elevator Alligator and Isambard and Brunel's dad. Annabelle was really happy she got to be a model and made new friends, and Max was really happy because she got a new friend too. It was a good dream.
When Annabelle told all the kids at school that she's a model, they thought that was really cool and want her to bring the catalog so they can see. I think she has to do more SHOOTS first. That's what you call it when you go and get a lot of fancy pictures taken.
We started orchestra class this week and it was really cool. Momo-teacher is the orchestra teacher and the CONDUCTOR, but some other grownups come to teach specific instruments. Maybe we aren't a real orchestra because we have all different instruments and not the ones orchestras are supposed to, but we like playing together and grownups can help us make ARRANGEMENTS of pieces to work with the instruments we have. We have more than 40 musicians and that's a lot!
We did more lessons for dancing spider glyphs. It isn't so cold and snowy in that valley now, but we still like making fires and snuggling up. It's a good thing we're on a hill because the river in the valley is getting BIGGER. We looked around and we don't think the valley ever floods so high the hill is underwater, but it might be hard to get to. Maybe we won't have snowmobiles any more, we'll have JETSKIS. That would be really cool!
Once Cally and Hebichi and I were the only ones who showed up so we went exploring and we found more footprints of HUGE ANIMALS. We didn't know how they can be so big and we've never seen them. They must be REALLY SNEAKY.
We finally heard about the brain cows. They jumped into the brain of somebody who lives out in the country so she didn't hear any of the announcements and she doesn't go to the zoo very often so she didn't see the posters. She didn't know why her ear went "moo" until her friend from the city told her. Now that she knows, she doesn't mind. She's a GLASSBLOWER and since the cows started eating her regular ideas and making fertilizer for ARTISTIC VISIONS, she makes even more amazing glass sculptures! She says she'll come to the zoo more so the brain cows can see their friends and get CHECKUPS sometimes. I'm glad everything is OK.
In Starfall it's getting lots more SPRINGY with rain instead of snow and all the trees are getting new leaves and flowers and our front yard with Number-dad's flowers is BLOOMING UP A STORM. Lots of places are really MUDDY, though, and Max still likes playing in mud puddles, so she has to take a lot of baths.
In the Dreamlands it's still pretty cold, but not as cold as when the frost giants came. Some people say that the winter staying cold longer means the summer will be hotter, but I don't know if that's right.
Lots of people think spring is a good season for FLIRTS, even with Humboldt and Dmitri who aren't really teenagers. They really like playing flirts with people, though. I don't know why.
This was a really exciting week. It took me a LONG TIME to write about everything.
