I got busy and didn't write ONE time, and then I was out of the HABIT and I didn't write for a whole month even though lots happened. That wasn't a good decision, Samuel! Now I have to write about part of October and all of November.
Tiny Squeak is doing REALLY GOOD. She keeps NURSING and GROWING and gets bigger and WIGGLIER and her squeaks get bigger too. Sometimes she wiggles so much that her paw or her tail goes in her mouth and she tries to nurse on it. It's really CUTE but then she cries because she doesn't have any milk and SOMEBODY is biting her and we have to help her get UNTANGLED. She's getting better at LOOKING at things, too. I think she wants to pounce on people's hands and bottles and EVERYTHING that moves by her, but she doesn't know how to do anything except wiggle yet. You'll figure it out, Tiny Squeak! Then you'll be really FEROCIOUS!
We did some more DREAMS with her, like we did when she was still inside VV-gram's BODY. Everything was hard to see and big and loud, but there were lots of smells of people she loved and warm cuddles and things to KNEAD so she was happy. I thought it might be hard to be a kitten, and it is, a little bit, but it's really NICE too. I'm glad.
DAPPER CAPYBARA and VULTURE QUEEN JILL got back to port safely with Nelson-captain and Zig-Zag and all of their crew. We knew they would once they got the masts stepped, but it made us really happy to see them anyway. It made Pierce and Truffle and Nameko happy too. They really missed their pirate friends! Nelson-captain brought back maps of a bunch of islands they explored that didn't have many people to talk to, but had lots of wild animals and maybe monsters. Some of the islands were so big they could only sail around and explore the COASTLINE so there might be really cool stuff in the INTERIORS. The Exploration Club really wants to go there next year when it's sailing season again. Maybe they can sail there in VULTURE QUEEN JILL if our parents say it's OK. Spin and Hebichi and I want to go with them, but it might be too scary.
Polky-Dot Dragon and Checky-Board Dragon came back too, and they brought 25 dragons with them. That's a lot of dragons! Some of them are sick or hurt and want to visit the Dragon Clinic so Shoe-auncle can help them, but lots wanted to come be friends with everybody. It took a long time to get back because some of the dragons don't walk very fast, and lots of them wanted to stop and explore or hunt yummy deers or take really long BATHS. The #37 dragons are really FRAZZLED from trying to keep everybody moving. Dragons are really nice, but maybe they're like kids who always want to do something different than what they're doing and ask if they're there yet and want snacks.
The Bear-grams are going away, not coming back, but they're doing really good travelling too. They're more than HALFWAY to Mars, because they aren't riding on a space train, they have a spaceship that works by FUSION. They're far enough away that we have to write letters to them because light takes too long for talking! They're learning lots, so when they get to Mars, they'll be READY.
We finished my BIRTHDAY EXPEDITION. There was a lot of WALKING, but I had my friends and my cousins and my brothers and my MASTYDON so it was really nice. We met other explorers too. Rose-auncle and Clover-auncle and a big stripy grey cat named Jeremiah were going to explore the ruined city and make sure it wasn't making poison or monsters or anything else that had to be taken care of. That's a job for PROFESSIONALS. Be safe, explorers!
After we got directions from the MAGNIFICENT ZALGUOR, we had to walk for more days, but finally we made it to the valleys beyond the mountain of the cloud giants. It was cold, but not as cold as the Northern Shores, and there were lots of animals for cats to hunt and caves for cats to live in and pine trees to make BEDS and a river that went over so many waterfalls it wouldn't freeze even in FEBRUARY. There were a lot of regular Dreamlands cats there, but some songcats too, because the 5 Gram Cats who are in charge wanted songkittens as soon as they heard about them. They say songcats are the CATS OF TOMORROW. That's called being EARLY ADOPTERS, but it's funnier when they're really adopting kittens.
Sky Kitten is only 2, but she's dark grey and fluffy like a raincloud, and she has a tail that's every color of the RAINBOW. When I met her, I was so happy I FELL OVER, and she sat on me and looked really proud. You defeated me with cuteness, Sky Kitten!
Sky Kitten is really fierce and thinks she's more grown-up than she is and wants everybody to say she's splendid and likes taking naps in the sun and pouncing on everything that moves. When she heard I came all the way from a CITY to see her, she said "Good big brother" and ate my hand, so now I have a new little sister. She isn't sure Humboldt and Dmitri are her big brothers too, since she already had lots, but she thinks they're nice. She likes everybody on the expedition, because she likes everybody who gives her treats and says nice things about her.
I'm really glad my EXPERIMENT worked out. Now I know that the tails we trade in at the Tail Store when we turn 7 get used for NEW KITTENS. I wonder if that means there are only a certain number of kitten tails so there can only be a certain number of songcats, but I really hope not. I think there should get to be as many songcats as we want, so we can have really big families on every planet! I guess my feelings are pretty complicated even though I'm glad.
We only stayed for two days, because there were a lot of us and we didn't want to eat all their food, but they were really nice to us, and when we said it would be really great if they came to Cat Day, they said maybe they would. I hope they do, because I think they'll get lots more friends. All my family want to meet Sky Kitten after we told them about her!
It was a really good expedition, and I'm really glad we did it. The Exploration Club liked it too. Dmitri drew a lot of maps and hung them up in the clubhouse.
I was really NERVOUS about the magic dreaming class, but it went really GREAT. We had 73 PEOPLE in the neighborhood center wanting to have dream adventures, and they ALL had lots of questions, but Number-dad and VV-gram and Nessie-auncle are REALLY GOOD teachers and got everybody thinking the right way and keeping their personal energy flowing really SMOOTH. We kittens helped too, and so did Rei and Pixie and Clover, but the grownups did most of the explaining. That's OK. I learned a new way to smooth out my personal energy when it gets too ROWDY by listening!
When we tried teaching a bunch of kids who hadn't done magic dreaming before, we had a lot of trouble getting them to all go to the Dreamlands and not run off and get into trouble, but this time we had gronwups and some of them helped us keep people moving in the RIGHT direction. Some of them ran around really wild like kids, though, so it wasn't easy. I think we need to invite Tansy next time, because she's good at HERDING people who want to go everywhere and eat different stuff. Somehow we got everybody up the mountain and gave the bugs a masquillion sweets so they didn't push anybody back down, and then we got a WHOLE TRAIN CAR full of people to my zoo. We did it!
Everybody liked my zoo, because it has DINOS and BUNNIES and CAPYBARAS and all different animals. They liked being in the Dreamlands too, and some of them ran around trying to find out if they had a special technique. Grownups are kind of SILLY.
After that, some people came and wanted help getting back into the Dreamlands because they couldn't do it without HELP. We had another class with just the people who had problems after Halloween, and now they're all good at having dream adventures. They aren't as good as CATS, but they can practice. I worried a little bit about having so many people from the Awake World going to the Dreamlands, but I think it will be OK because people from Starfall are RESPONSIBLE. There are lots of books where magic is special and secret, but I don't think that's good. Robots and lasers and genetic engineering are powerful too, but we don't say only special people can learn them.
I wanted to write about Halloween, but that's as much as I can write today. I'll have to write the rest TOMORROW.
We had EXTRA choir practice today because we're going to sing WINTER SOLSTICE songs for everybody and we want to be really GOOD. I think we will be! Do your best, everybody!
Hebichi and I have been learning winter songs for the FIDDLE too. We're being really MUSICAL and it's lots of fun. I like the songs that are really WINTERY, but Hebichi likes the songs that are FESTIVE. I don't like being out in the cold by myself, but the music that feels like that is really PRETTY.
We don't have any snow here yet, but it's really COLD. The lake is frozen all the way over, but it's not thick enough for ICE SKATING. It has to be 15cm thick or it's not SAFE. If it keeps being this cold, though, it will get that thick!
There's lots of snow in the Dreamlands, but it's not as cold as here in Dragon-mayor's city. It's colder in the mountains, but mountain animals grow really WARM fur and mountain people stay INSIDE. Some of the animals in my zoo like the snow and run around playing in it, but the ones from warm places stay in their houses. Sometimes we can get them to come into the VIEWING AREAS, though, so people can see them. If nobody can see the animals, they won't come to the zoo!
I have lots more to write about the time when I FORGOT to write, like HALLOWEEN.
I decided that I wasn't just a mastydon, I was a MOM MASTYDON so I could take Cattail to the party. Then Spin was a DAD DINO and Hebichi was a PARENT PUMPKIN and we had the plush ICONS of our dream-helpers with us, and we pretended like we were teaching them how to behave at parties and how to be polite and share sweets and HUNT MONSTERS. Lots of people were from MEGALOMACHY because of the new season, so there were lots of monsters we had to protect our kids and other kids and nice animals from. Lots of teenagers were EMPOUSA, the new character who has magic metal arms and legs that turn into different things, because her outfit is good for FLIRTING. We taught our kids that teenagers are WEIRD and that made them laugh. It was really fun and nice. We didn't do very much yelling, because we were NICE parents.
Cara was the prettiest Empousa. Rei and Nico helped her make fancy gloves that turned into SWORDS and boots that looked like legs for fast running. She said they made her legs hurt after a while, but lots of people wanted to help MASSAGE her legs, so she looked really PROUD. Rei was the new boy from the new season, Patty, who pretends he doesn't doesn't like Empousa but always shows up where she is because he has a CRUSH. They did really SILLY acting, and it was really FUNNY. Good job, Rei!
My BIG BROTHERS and lots of other kids were other MEGALOMACHY people, and one really TALL kid was the Vampire Witch's TOWER. Dmitri was Patty's Lightning Squirrel friend, who always steals treats and gets into trouble, so he had lots of fun, but he was worried about Jeanne's MYSTERIOUS costume plan. But then Jeanne and Blond Dmitri and their friends came to our party, and she was ABISHAI, who wrote the first MEGALOMACHY books! It was a really good costume because REAL PEOPLE are hard to do, but she had the square glasses and the floofy black ponytail just like in the pictures so everybody recognized her, and then the MEGALOMACHY people had to do what she wanted because she wrote them that way! She REVELED in her power a little bit, but mostly she was nice. I think she got KISSES from my Dmitri and lots of other people. I hope she isn't too much of a teenager.
Flower-gram was a HUGE white cat, bigger than Number-dad, so VV-gram was a beautiful FLOWER, and she gave Tiny Sqeuak BEE pajamas. She stayed in the chill room for kids because the party was too LOUD for little Mlle Squeaks, but sometimes very RESPONSIBLE people got to babysit while VV-gram went to get food and talk to people. We all love Tiny Squeak!
Annabelle was a dragon, because she thought all the new dragons in the Dreamlands were really COOL. She wanted Max to be a dragon with her, but Max was a blue giant star because it was her ARTISTIC VISION. She was a big blue ball with lights inside, and some planets on her ears. Only two, because blue stars don't last long enough to have many planets. Lots of people said they were going to eat her, because they heard the story about her eating a blue star someday, but she flashed bright blue LIGHTS at them until they said sorry. Nobody can eat my little sister!
Number-dad and Clover-auncle were bees too, just like Mlle Squeaks, but Fairy-mom and Dragon-mom and Lilja-auncle were all forest spirits with leaves and branches and fruit. They were really pretty!
Sahara and Simoun were going to be CARNIVOROUS HORSES from MEGALOMACHY, but then they read a book set on their favorite planet, about people going into deep deep caves and finding monsters still living there and they wanted to be MARS MONSTERS. They were like red cats, but with more legs and more eyes and scary OVIPOSITORS. Those are bum tentacles that are for paralyzing people and laying EGGS in them so the babies will have fresh tasty MEAT when they hatch. I'm not going to read that book because it sounds TOO SCARY. I kept my Cattail away from those monsters!
Everybody liked the pumpkins with glowing faces that we grew in farming class. Number-dad said they were SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALADOCIOUS scary-veggies. That means really GREAT. We had scary skeletons and some HOLOGRAPHIC ghosts too. It was really spooky! It was a good party and we all had lots of fun. Even VV-gram said she had fun.
When we went to sleep, we had a HALLOWEEN DREAM like we do every year. I think this dream was like a story different people wrote about MEGALOMACHY without getting Abishai to help. That's called FANFICTION. There were lots of Empousas because of a DIMENSIONAL ACCIDENT and people from different stories and Mars monsters and prehistoric creatures that got mixed up with everything and it was a little bit RIDICULOUS. I wasn't a grownup mastydon, so I was more like Cattail's big sister, and Spin was only a little bit bigger than Mazurkasaurus, but Hebichi was a HUGE PUMPKIN DRAGON. Their head was like a giant scary pumpkin and their body was made out of VINES with little pumpkins in it and they had GREEN fire! I think Jackie wants to grow up to be a dragon now. We taught our little creatures how to be safe in dimensional anomalies and get treats by being CUTE and scare away monsters without getting any EGGS. It was exciting and not too scary and we got to ride on BALLOONS that had big glowing faces and see all the people transformed like their costumes.
Once harvesting was over, I went to ART CLASS on those days. It wasn't the kind of class with a teacher; it was a bunch of people who wanted to get better at drawing so they got people to MODEL for them. I was the only kid there but they were really nice to me and gave me advice when I asked for it and not when I didn't. Sometimes I practiced drawing what the model looked like and sometimes I practiced drawing what they FELT like. It was really good to have some quiet time to FOCUS on art with no siblings. I don't know if I'm really getting better, but maybe I am.
After I went and we all drew STANDING-UP people a few times, the other artists said they wanted to get better at drawing different kinds of people, like CATS. They wanted me to model for them! It was really embarrassing, but it made me happy too, so I did. Modeling for art is hard because you have to POSE like you're doing something but hold still for a long time. I don't know if I did a good job, but everybody said they liked it. We talked about fur and muscles, and then I said maybe we should get MAX to model because she doesn't have any fur. Everybody thought that was a good idea so I asked Max and she thought it was a good idea because "Max MODEL" but then Annabelle wanted to model too so the next class Number-dad brought them both and they POSED and we all drew them and it was really fun. I don't think I want to do art EVERY DAY like Number-dad and Nessie-auncle, but I like it.
Maybe next time I'll get somebody with a different kind of body to come pose for the class, like Pixie. Maybe I should teach them magic dreaming so we can go to the Dreamlands and draw DRAGONS.
November has been a good month. I remembered to give Tiny Squeak a present on the 14th because that's LITTLE ORANGE CAT DAY, and I went to the cat café in the Dreamlands to give extra treats to the little orange cats there. Toka went with me and gave ALL the kitties treats, because they still love kitties. Their tail is getting really long and fluffy, but they still only have 1 tail. They say they have to get more grownup and have more SWEETHEARTS before they can have 2 tails like Zora. I don't think having sweethearts is what makes you cool, but love is really important. I don't know if I'll have lots of sweethearts, but I only need 1 tail.
On the 23rd, we had THANKSGIVING with our whole neighborhood in the neighborhood center and it was really FESTIVE. Everybody made a masquillion kinds of food and it was really warm inside even though it was COLD outside, and we ate until the whole neighborhood was really round and talked about stuff and watched shows. When we could walk again, I got Dmitri and Hebichi and Bina and Humboldt to come to the neighborhood center where Spin and Jean and Blond Dmitry and their families were having Thanksgiving and we gave them hugs and said how happy we are for them to be our FRIENDS and traded them some dessert we brought for their dessert. Hebichi said the choco cream pie was REALLY yummy but I still didn't try it. Choco is weird and it might make me sick.
Our family eats a lot, so we had to bring a lot of food to Thanksgiving to be FAIR. We cooked some whole turkeys and made yam dumplings and bean casserole and chili bean stew and smushed potatoes and bread stuffing and a bunch of pumpkin pies and quince pies and lemon pudding pies and maybe some more stuff that I'm not REMEMBERING. We all worked together, but Sahara and Simoun and I did most of the work on the chili bean stew, so we said that was our contribution. I helped Humboldt and Number-dad with the turkeys a lot too. I like feeding people with LOVE.
There was a Thanksgiving dream, too, and it was a really warm and cozy and FULL dream about Dragon-Mayor's party and all the dragons and our big family from different Awake Worlds. Dragons eat a lot of turkey and stuffing! But when they're full, they like to curl up around the edges of the banquet hall and get cuddles from smaller people and SING. Songcats and sheepies and all kinds of people like to sing too, so it was really nice. I made sure to say nihao to all the new dragons, but I don't remember all their numbers and names. I remember Dragon 193, Cold-Mouth Dragon, because she's little and young and Hebichi and I snuggled her a bunch. She came to the Dragon Clinic because her fire doesn't work right and she hopes Shoe-doctor can help. She feels bad when other dragons have to COOK her food for her. We tried telling her it's OK to use a STOVE but she still feels bad about it. She wants to grow up to be cool like the older dragons. You can do it, #193!
Now it's DECEMBER and we're out of leftovers so we have to cook every day again.
I think there are two more things to write about and then I can go back to regular writing.
Annabelle saw a picture of a kitten with grey points sleeping in a BASKET and thought it looked really nice, so she asked our parents to make her a sleeping basket at the neighborhood center. It's like wicker and has a big round cushion with flowers and it's big enough for 1 kitten to flop or 2 kittens to curl up, and it's REALLY COMFY. We all tried cuddling in it with Annabelle and now we all want sleeping baskets. We're going to go make some soon, maybe ones big enough for 7 KITTENS. We have to rearrange our sleeping room so all the toyboxes are out of the way, first.
The other thing that happened just today is that Clover said she wants to MOVE OUT. She's going to get an APARTMENT with her friends Rafe and Oona like grownups. That makes me sad, because now we won't see her every day and I'll miss her. They want to get an apartment that's close, maybe in the apartment building across the street from Hebichi's house, but it's not the same as having her her live on our livingroom shelves. I know it's a really important part of growing up, but thinking about that reminds me that soon Zora is going away to advanced training for a WHOLE YEAR and then she'll be a grownup and a monster hunter.
I want everybody's love to stay the SAME, but that isn't how life works. Everybody is always changing. I change too, and someday I'll have to move out to live by myself. I don't want that to happen, but it's not for lots of years yet. Maybe by then I'll want to. I won't stop loving my family.
It's Sunday, so I'm writing to get IN THE HABIT.
We went and got some big sleeping baskets for our room. The biggest one is big enough for all of us if we put Max and Annabelle on TOP. There are two medium-sized ones that HANG UP and that's really cool. I like sleeping up high, and it's too COLD outside to sleep in the treehouse. Our room is lots cooler now.
Clover was talking about MOVING again, and I got really sad and cried on her ruff. She petted me a lot and promised to come and visit LOTS, but I'm still sad.
Pixie said she'll come to art class to be a model so everybody can learn to draw CENTAURIFORM people. Faun wants to go too but he's busy with DANCING class when we have art class. He's a good dancer!
I wrote so now I'm going to snuggle by Clover and hug Cattail and read some manga.
This week was nice. Clover hasn't found a good apartment to move to yet, so she still lives with us and we can all give her kisses every day. It's still cold outside and now it's cloudy during the day and windy during the night so everybody who isn't an ultra-modern person stays INSIDE as much as they can. When we do go outside, it makes coming back in really NICE.
In the Dreamlands, there's even MORE snow. The piggies in my zoo got really BORED being cooped up inside, so we got them coats and let them go outside. The coats are really cool because they have loops to catch on HOOKS to hold them so the piggies can wiggle in and get all their legs through, and then back up to get off the hook and run around. When they got out into their yard, they started digging in the snow and making big long piles. I didn't know if they were making snowpiggies or snow forts, so I asked Max because she's best with the piggies, and she said, "YEAH" so I still don't know! Maybe it's both, like big snowpiggies to hide behind. They would throw snowballs if they had hands, but they don't, so we had to throw all the snowballs and they REALLY liked that, even when we splatted them on the nose. Snowballs are really funny to piggies and goblets.
I brought Pixie to art class so she could model. She tried to pose really PRETTY, because she's a teenager and wants everybody to see how grownup she is and want to do SNOGS with her, but she's in teenagers I and all the artists are grownups except a few in teenagers II, so they asked her pose to show off how her muscles and bones work instead. She felt a little bad, but she was a good model after that. The way the join between her upper body and lower body works is really cool! She can be standing up or straight or even bent around in a circle with her tummy on the inside. She's not like a cat, because she bends the most right there, instead of being bendy all the way along. Bodies are really neat!
Number-dad is a little sad because the manga he's drawing now, TOWERS OF THE SUN, didn't win an award, so he's not going to the Buzzbee Manga Artist Awards. It's the 75th year, so it's an extra-big party, and he could go because he was a PRESENTER before, but he can't bring his WHOLE family, so he decided not to go. I think he should go, but he says he doesn't want to be away from everybody during the HOLIDAYS. Maybe it's because he's sad and needs lots of kittens to eat his ears.
We all like sleeping in our new baskets. I get to sleep in one of the HANGING baskets every night, and it goes back and forth a little like it's rocking me to sleep. I think it helps me have exciting dream adventures, because Hebichi and I had 3 different dreams about skiiing and skating and riding SNOWMOBILES this week. We went so fast in the snow!
Lots of other stuff happened this week, because it was 7 WHOLE DAYS, but lots of it was pretty ordinary.
Something happened just today that I should write about. Hebichi and Toka put all their Lego away before they went out, but when they came back, it was ALL OVER and their dads stepped on it and hurt their feet. They got really upset because they knew they put it away and didn't know how it got out, but then they heard that Toka's friend's art supplies were all over, and Spin's JUGGLING equipment, and all kinds of messes all over even though people take good care of their stuff. Even Number-dad's gardening tools got thrown all over the yard! I didn't know why, but Number-dad did. "Weird little critters back," he said. "They no can come in wizard houses, but toolbox outside. When I kid, they here and we hadda give them soda and chips every week or they make more & more messes. Then for years they not here. Dunno why they back now. Maybe it because more people learn magic."
I felt really bad because we taught a lot of people magic dreaming and I'm in classes with people to learn magic singing and I think everybody should get to learn magic, but Dragon-mom said, it's not our fault, it's the BROWNIES' fault. I don't know if that's right, though, because brownies are spirits and they don't always make decisions. Sometimes they have to do things because that's just how they are.
In the old days, brownies wanted a bowl of milk every day, because they lived in the country where everybody was a FARMER, but now we give them a can of soda pop and a little bag of chips every week so they feel APPRECIATED and won't cause messes. They might even help us if there's a problem that brownies can fix. Maybe that makes it OK to give them PROTECTION SNACKS, but it still seems sketchy. It's not too late to change, brownies!
I dreamed I was running in the forest, but I ran too fast and crashed into Parsel! I felt really bad, but he said it was OK because kitten crashes are the softest. That was really nice of him. We found a good place to hide from the snow under a tree that fell down, and made a little fire with MAGIC and talked about things. The scary girls didn't light his school on fire at all this month, and he found a girl who isn't scary to do flirts with. He's a TEENAGER, but he only said nice things about his sweetheart so it was OK. He's worried about one of the teachers at his school who might secretly be a VILLAIN but he doesn't know. Maybe she's just WEIRD. Another teacher is almost DEAD and isn't waking up, and the principal isn't being very helpful. It sounds like a really dangerous and messy school! I'm glad my school isn't like that. Zeb-teacher and Bob-teacher and Momo-teacher are lots more organized and they know to get wizards and monster hunters if they need to! I said Parsel could come to school with Humboldt, but maybe not all his friends could come too, and he has a DESTINY at his school.
We were having a nice talk, but then a BEAR smelled our fire and came to see if we had any food. Parsel got his wand ready with clobbering magic, but I sang the Nothing Here Is Yummy Song, and the bear went away again. We were glad we didn't have to fight, but then ANOTHER BEAR came. That was TOO MANY BEARS, so we went to Bruno and Beezer's house and built a fire in their fireplace and sang the Toasting Our Paws At The Fire Song. When Bruno and Beezer came back, we had warm juice all ready for them, and that made it a better dream.
Tak-auncle called to talk to everybody. It was nice to hear from him, but he sounded LONELY and SAD, so all of us kittens CONSPIRED with Fairy-mom and Dragon-mom and everybody agreed that Number-dad should go to TOKYO to see Tak-auncle. Fairy-mom got plane tickets and Dragon-mom took the phone away and said Number-dad would be there for the Buzzbee Awards party. Tak-auncle and Number-dad were both so surprised they FELL OVER. Then they both said Number-dad shouldn't leave his kittens during the holidays, but we said he should see his friend and then come BACK to his kittens. All of us went in the other room so they could cry a little bit, but they were crying because they were HAPPY. It made us happy too. I think Tak-auncle has had a hard year since his mom died and some of his friends moved to SHANGHAI and his manga didn't get an award either, so I hope Number-dad can cheer him up. Happy holidays, Tak-auncle!
We gave Number-dad a MASQUILLION hugs for Tak-auncle. He better deliver all of them when he goes tomorrow!
Starfall is still really cold and windy and cloudy, so it was another good week to stay cozy INSIDE. We went to game night at Spin's neighborhood center and played a lot of games and Dragon-mom won a bunch. She's really smart, and good with PATTERNS. I played a new game called CRYSTALLIZATION, which has lots of patterns. You have to get the most hexagons in your color, but it depends which piece you put on each hexagon whether you can keep people from stealing the NEXT one. It's really hard, because each piece has a different rule for every piece that might be next to it, but I'm getting better. You can do it, Samuel!
Number-dad made an ANNOUNCEMENT about the brownies so people didn't have to worry about the MESSES. Now the grocery store has TINY sodas to put outside every night, and if the brownies clean things up instead of making messes, they get a bag of CRISPS on Sunday. I think VV-gram worked on that deal, because that's what she calls CHIPS. Making deals with magic creatures is a big part of being a wizard. I need to learn to do that, but I think it's really HARD because they really want to do whatever it is they do and not stop even when they're hurting somebody. I don't think the Let's All Be Friends Song is enough. I might need to get really fierce, but maybe Simoun and Sahara can be fierce and then I can tell the magic creatures how to keep from getting beaten up. That's called GOOD COP BAD COP so maybe I don't want to do things that way.
The singing and fiddling is going really good, so we're going to have a PERFORMANCE next week. Number-dad won't be there, which makes me feel a little bit bad, but lots of people will come to hear us sing and sing with us.
Last night, we dreamed about CAT DAY. This time we were in the mountains at the old SKIING LODGE. Lots of Cat Days happen there, so we fixed it up all nice and it's warm inside and there aren't any more VAMPIRES.
3 Orange Socks was at a different Cat Day, and that made me mad because I think he should come see Tiny Squeak and VV-gram. VV-gram said he's a really BUSY and IMPORTANT cat and has to see lots of people and kittens. She's RIGHT but I was still grouchy. Everyboyd should know Tiny Squeak is the BEST!
I was WORRIED that Sky Kitten wasn't there, but she was just LATE. 3 of the Gram Cats and Sky Kitten and her mom Aria and her big brothers Flier and Snake Fangs and some other cats from their valley got to the lodge just before DARK. I was glad to see them and nihao them to my family and friends and show off TINY SQUEAK. Everybody was really FRIENDLY and my parents said I did a good job getting such a cute TAIL-SISTER. All my big siblings liked Flier and Snake Fangs, who are about as grownup as Humbold and Dmitri, but the twins liked Snake Fangs a LOT because he got his name from knowing BITING magic. I hope they don't get too FEROCIOUS.
Aria is good at regular singing, so she got together with other cats who know songs, and they sang LOTS. They sang Wiggle-Nose's song, which is sad because Wiggle-Nose got his blood sucked out by a vampire right on that SAME MOUNTAIN and died, but has lots to say about vampire hunting. Everybody listened and cats with notebooks took NOTES.
It was a good Cat Day. We had lots of barbecue and snuggling and playing to keep warm, and Run-auncle and Ani-auncle and Tansy-gram and Edward-gram and Callie-auncle and Pounce-auncle and Luna-auncle were all there, and lots of our parent's friends like Brown Star and Spot Hat, and Shoe-auncle and Octavio-auncle and Esmerelda-auncle and Wiggle-Whiskers-auncle and all their kids. There were a lot of cats!
Wiggle-Nose was Wiggle-Whiskers-auncle's brother, so he was really sad when we sang that song, but Brown Star and Number-dad and some other cats tore that vampire into little pieces and Nessie's monsters ate the pieces. They AVENGED Wiggle-Nose, and now there aren't any vampires in these mountains.
We took Number-dad to the airport and put him on an AIRPLANE today. He worried a lot about not being here for the SOLSTICE, but there are lots of wizards in our town now. He doesn't have to do everything HIMSELF. Have a good time in Tokyo, Number-dad!
I want to go to Tokyo too. It sounds really COOL. They have lots of fancy buildings after the big earthquake, and people in fancy clothes, and the best SUSHI. Maybe we'll go next year!
Number-dad called to let us know he made it to Tokyo and was giving Tak-auncle all our hugs RIGHT THEN. HURRAY!
I felt bad about putting up the holiday tree without him, but we started getting PRESENTS and need somewhere to put them! We put it right in front of the shelves, so Clover and Oona and Rafe can LURK. The Grams and the Cousins came over to help us DECORATE it. Annabelle wanted to put Tiny Squeak on the very top because she's the most BEAUTIFUL but that's not a good place for a kitten. We put a big gold STAR there instead, and pretended to eat Annabelle's presents.
Last night we had some more Cat Day. There were a bunch of ZEPPELIN CATS and some MECHA CATS who came to join us, and they brought a lot of meat and a masquillion small cats to help eat it. We had to sing the song about Cat-in-Law to a bunch of new cats who didn't know Dragon-mom, but then they were glad to be friends with her and said Number-dad was really LUCKY. We all built a lot of snow sculptures and snow forts and had snowball fights, and sang a bunch more songs. I got to ride in a zeppelin AND a mecha with Sky Kitten. She thought it was the greatest thing ever!
Simoun and Sahara looked really PROUD so I think they learned Snake Fangs's magic biting technique. I hope they don't give too many people VENOMOUS bites. Make good decisions, guys!
All the cats from Sky Kitten's valley had fun. I hope they come to visit us against when they can, but they live pretty far away so that might not be often. Maybe someday there will be a TRAIN to their valley, just like to the Northern Shores.
I talked to lots of grownup cats about the TAIL EXPERIMENT, but they don't know what it means either. Maybe cats will have their kittens get BAR CODES dyed on their tails so we can track the tails from kitten to kitten over the years. It will be really INTERESTING!
Today was the 75th Buzzbee Manga Artist Awards! We watched from the Gram House again, and invited all our friends so it was a big PARTY, but not as big as the party we were watching! It was in the Comiket Pyramid, which is a huge building like an UPSIDE-DOWN pyramid. The one before the big earthquake had pillars at the corners to hold it up, but this one just has CABLES to keep from falling over. It's HUGE inside, and tonight it was all full of bright lights and fancy people and tables and screens and NOISE. There were a lot of people who were famous in the MANGA WORLD and some people who were really famous, and the TV people wanted to talk about all of them, so we only got to see Number-dad and Tak-auncle a few times, but they looked really happy and had cool TUXEDOS. Sending Number-dad was a REALLY GOOD idea even if we miss him.
Lots of people got interviewed and there were annoucements about new manga people are making and lots of HISTORY from the past 75 years of manga and stuff like that. Betsy, Lam-artist announced that she was going to finish Drifting in the Green Dream soon and start a new manga, which made Dmitri shriek. Number-dad and Tak-auncle only got a short interview, but Number-dad was really cool and said he didn't win because all the new manga artists are REALLY GREAT.
I took notes about new manga that were announced, especially for MIDDLE GRADE because that means my age. I want to read THROMMO THE MAGNIFICENT and ORRERY and DON'T CALL ME THAT and IRONCLAD RULES FOR FAERIES the most, but I want to read all of them!
We watched for every time Number-dad and Tak-auncle's table was on camera, and every time, there were lots of people there talking to them. They didn't win any awards this year or get to be presenters, but everybody in the MANGA COMMUNITY likes them a lot. Tak-auncle was so happy he did weird things with his hands like he used to, and people laughed and gave him big smiles. Hurray for Tak-auncle!
The manga that beat Number-dad and Tak-auncle was DARK QUEEN'S EMBRACE, which is about vampire hunters. I haven't read it because it's for grownups and has lots of SNOGS and MURDERS and BLOOD, but Cara read it and said it's really good, so maybe it's okay that Fujimori, Ryuuko-artist won. She had a really COOL red dress too so she looked pretty and scary.
I fell asleep before the show was over, but I had a pretend dream about being at manga awards and getting a prize for drawing a manga about Pixie when she didn't have any clothes on and dancing with lots of people. I dreamed I drank a whole bunch of CHAMPAGNE and it fizzed my nose and made me dizzy. That doesn't make me want to drink real champagne even though grownups do. It doesn't make me think Pixie's mom chest is special even though teenagers do.
The solstice was early this morning, so all the wizards stayed up late to get ready to do magic to protect the town. When we woke up, the Starfall was still here, so I think they did a good job even WITHOUT Number-dad. Hurray for the wizards!
I still can't help, and Sahara and Simoun can't either, but Humboldt and Dmitri can. I don't know if they do very much, but at least they get to go watch so they can learn how to do it. I want to learn really POWERFUL magic to help everybody too!
After the wizards rested, we all got really FANCY with jewelry and winter dresses and lights and stars and tinsel and bags of little PRESENTS, and went to all the Solstice parties of the neighborhoods around ours to say nihao to everybody. We had to go back to our OWN neighborhood center to get more presents sometimes, so we saw people from different neighborhoods who were doing the same thing. It was really fun and we got to make people happy by giving them choco oranges and manga and funny SOCKS. I liked seeing all the different party decorations, but it was a little EXHAUSTING meeting all the new people. Annabelle really liked it, though, and Humboldt got to show off how he knows where everything is without looking up where any of the neighborhood centers are. My siblings are really cool.
I got to see Spin and his really fancy new dress that sparkles like stars, and Blond Dmitry with his new roller skates that he NEVER takes off, and Dmitri got to see Jean, who made his hair bright RED for the holidays and got a tiara of MISTLETOE to get more kisses. I love them all, but Spin was coolest because he made a matching dress for MAZURKASAURUS REGINA. She's the fanciest dino!
In the evening, we went back to our neighborhood center to have a FEAST with everybody. Everybody was beautiful because they were full of LOVE, but maybe Toka and Hebichi were the beautifullest. They had green dresses with skirts that went out like PYRAMIDS and lots of lace underneath to keep them like that. I think that's called PETTICOATS. They matched! Toka was REALLY happy to match their big sibling, but I think Hebichi was pretty happy too. They used to not get along, but now they know they LOVE each other. I gave them crowns of mistletoe with twinkling lights, and then I had to kiss them because they had mistletoe.
I was a little bit worried because at our house we mostly made DESSERTS, but Fairy-mom had her CHECKLISTS working right, so other families brought lots of main dishes and side dishes and drinks and more desserts. Piffle-auncle's desserts were FANCIEST, because she's a PROFESSIONAL, but the cakes Humboldt and I made with Dragon-mom were really pretty too, and everybody said they tasted really GOOD. Bina's family's cheesecakes were really good too. All the food was good! I think my favorite was the goose with PUMPKIN STUFFING, but there was so much that it was hard to decide. It was a GREAT FEAST.
There was lots of MISTLETOE everywhere so I had to kiss a MASQUILLION people. Then I got tired so I fell over under a mistletoe and let people come to kiss ME. Sometimes they fell over too, so I got a big pile of LOVE all around me. You're doing great, Samuel!
Last night when they were falling ASLEEP on me, Toka told me about how their house has a KITTYMAS tree, because Theo and Cleo and Mlle. Floofypaws like to climb up inside it and SING. They used to like knocking the decorations off, but Toka made really SAD eyes at them until they stopped doing that. Then I went to sleep too, and dreamed about the HUGE tree in front of City Tall. It's not a real tree, it's made out of metal and twinkling lights, but it's really PRETTY and on the inside it has lots of places to CLIMB and PERCH. When I looked inside, there were a masquillion cats there, and 1 of them was Cat-in-Law and 1 was Toka! I climbed up pretty high and sang, and then everybody SANG and it was really nice. City Tall gave us really good ECHOES, and people came to the windows to look.
Elephant cat couldn't climb in the tree because he's TOO BIG and that made him sad, but Sahara and I had a PLAN. We got a great big tarp and folded it up so he had something nicer to sit on than the sidewalk, and put another tarp over him to keep him WARM, and put a crown of mistletoe and twinkling lights on his head. Then he could lurk inside the bottom of the tree, and people could give him kisses, and smaller cats could cuddle under the tarp with him, and he felt really APPRECIATED. All the dragons came to say nihao to him, and some of them talked about how FRUSTRATING it is to not be able to climb on things but some of them talked about how PRETTY he is and he got big and pink inside. It made me really HAPPY to see him having friends. Good work, d'Yuggoth kittens!
It snowed more and the wind got colder and nobody liked sitting on cold metal branches, so after a while we all went down to sit with Elephant Cat and Cold-Mouth Dragon and Bobtail Dragon. They had BUCKETS of warm juice, but they let us use regular cups to get some for ourselves. We sang the Let's All Be Friends Song and some Happy Holidays Songs and finally the Let's Go Inside And Get Warm Song, and lots of humans and sheepies and dragons and meerbots and everybody sang along!
Number-dad came back! I gave him a masquillion hugs to CATCH UP and he gave me a masquillion hugs from Tak-auncle and then everybody else came back from school too and we made him tell us ALL ABOUT Tokyo and Tak-auncle and the Buzzbee Awards party and new manga. Dmitri is REALLY curious about Lam, Betsy-artist's new manga, because he likes DRIFTING IN THE GREEN DREAM so much, but she didn't tell Number-dad much. Dmitri shrieked a lot, which was pretty funny.
I'm glad we got Number-dad to go hug Tak-auncle, but I'm glad he's back too. He's my BEST dad.
Delivery trucks dropped off some big BOXES to take on vacation with us. I think they're mostly full of MEDICINE and BOOKS, but there might be some stuff for Vinnie-auncle too, like gambling machines that work UNDERWATER. I think that's a little bit SKETCHY, but lots of people like Vinnie-auncle's casino. I hope we give Sea Monster Cove enough stuff that they can be OK for the whole year!
In the afternoon, instead of choir CLASS, we had a choir PERFORMANCE. It was scary, but I think we did a good job. Hebichi and I sang with everybody else, but for SNOWFLAKE POEMS we did FIDDLING while everybody else sang. That's called ACCOMPANIMENT. I made some mistakes, but only little ones, and everybody in the audience was singing ALONG so I don't think they noticed. It was really fun and happy!
I dreamed about going to the MALL in Dragon-mayor's city with Toka and Simoun and Sahara and Hebichi and Spin and lots of other kids. We saw a holiday movie and ate ice cream and soft pretzels and looked in lots of stores for PRESENTS and visited the kitties in the cat café. You can't go to the mall with Toka and skip the cat café! There were a masquillion housecats and housekittens, and lots of people there thinking about taking them home to love, and most people were really SWEET. But 1 person said she heard that orange boy cats are pretty but really DUMB. That made me really MAD, because Number-dad and Shoe-auncle are orange boy cats and they're really SMART. You can't be a wizard or a veterinarian if you're dumb! I got too mad at that person and cussed at her and said SHE was dumb. That wasn't nice, Samuel! She got embarrassed, though, and said she didn't mean to say anything bad about my family. Even if it's true about orange boys, that's only for housecats, not for SONGCATS. Then I got embarrassed and ran away and hid in the corner by the bug store. Tater found me, because he was at the mall buying LAST-MINUTE presents. I didn't want to talk about my BAD DECISIONS, but he's really nice and calmed me down. Maybe it worked because he's in charge of BIG ANIMALS. I told him how I was mad about people saying mean things about my dad. He said it was good that they didn't say anything about my MOM, because then I would have to CLOBBER them, but that's an OLD rule. Now we know that moms are really POWERFUL and can do their OWN clobbering if they need to. Tater thought about his mom and said I was RIGHT, so I felt better. Then Spin and Maz came to get me and take me to the Pirate Den where Pierce and Truffle and Nameko and Nelson and a bunch of people were having a PARTY. Toka wanted me to dance with them a BUNCH because they still say I'm their SWEETHEART but I got to dance with all my friends and siblings and fiddle some PIRATE SONGS for everybody to dance to.
Zigzag the pirate elephant and Cattail are getting to be GOOD FRIENDS, or maybe Zigzag is like Cattail's AUNCLE. He's teaching him important elephant DANCES and how to sing with his TRUNK. It's really CUTE. You're such a good elephant, Zigzag!
I woke up early, so I wrote about my dream, but now everybody else is waking up so it's about to be time for PRESENTS. I heard in some families, the kids wake up REALLY early to get presents, but our family is CATS, and 1 of those cats is DMITRI.
We did lots of presents today and they made everybody really happy. The biggest present was new BIKES for Sahara and Simoun, so they can do more bike races. The fanciest present was a gold TIARA with blue jewels for Max. She's even more beautiful now! The FUNNIEST present was a blanket for Dmitri because he takes so many naps, with a really good SQUARE pattern on it so it seems really ORDERLY. The cutest present was a hat for Tiny Squeak, because it makes her head look like a BROCCOLI. We won't eat you, Tiny Squeak! Not even if you're covered in cheese!
People gave me lots of DINO presents, especially plush dinos. I think they're all going to be in my zoo once they have NAMES. There are SPIKY ones and SCALY ones and FRILLY ones and really LONG ones and they're all great! I hope they're all my friends when we get the new dinosaur zone built.
Everybody liked all their presents. We did a good job SANTA CLAUSING this year!
Some years we have ANOTHER big feast with everybody, but this year people were with their own family. Everybody at the Cousin House went to have dinner with Big Sam's siblings and their families, because they all miss the Bear-grams together. Pixie and Faun are having dinner with Devi-auncle's parents and siblings and their families. That means it was just everybody from my house at the Gram House to COOK UP A STORM! We had ham and little toasty birds and brussel sprouts and raisin spinch and sugar cookies and purpleberry pie and HUGS. It was a happy day, but we went to bed early because tomorrow we have to get up EARLY to go on vacation. That's going to be fun too!
I think I already wrote about the stuff that happened this week, because I wrote almost every day. It was a good week, and tomorrow we start a VACATION week.
I didn't write all vacation, but I'm writing now because it's SUNDAY and that's writing day.
On the 25th we got all packed up and rode the train to Upside Down Mountain. We saw the FLAMINGOS flying beautifully in the sunshine way up high, and somebody said maybe that was LUCKY. We had lucky Number-dad and lucky Clover-auncle, and then later lucky Shoe-auncle came with dragons and tricers and big kitties from the city, so I think it was a good day for lucky things to happen. Then everybody from Tansy's sheep place came to visit, along with moosies and pengies and spidies from the Northern Shores. There was a lot of HUGGING and I got some MOOSE KISSES but then the northern people had to catch the train to West Snorbing Junction and the rest of us went to Sea Monster Cove. We filled up the whole train again.
I was really happy because we got Hebichi's family and Spin's family to come with us, and Dmitri was happy because Jeanne's family came with us. Lots of Starfall people want to visit the Dreamlands now!
Elephant Cat and Jackie and Maz and Toka's kitties all came with us, but Pierce and the Mushroom Sisters didn't. They stayed in the city with Nelson-captain so the Mushrooms could hear more PIRATE STORIES. Cattail came as far as Upside Down Mountain, but then he went to the Snowy Hoof convention because he was afraid Sea Monster Cove would be too HOT for mastydons and he wanted to meet other animals who live in cold places. I missed him, but he was with nice people and he's a really BRAVE mastydon, so it's OK. Have lots of fun, Cattail!
Sea Monster Cove is still really SUNNY and WARM because it's tropical, and that was really nice after cold windy Starfall. It was even better this year because they have CAPYBARAS now. The capybaras are like the sheepies, because some of them can talk and all of them can listen, and sometimes they like wearing HATS. The oldest grandma capybara has a hat made out of gold and jade, so she looks really FANCY. They came a long ways to visit Sea Monster Cove, but now that they're there, they just swim and eat veggies and play games and CHILL because that's how capybaras are. I was afraid the JAGUARS would try to eat them, but they don't. They're FRIENDS. I think the capybaras have FRIENDSHIP MAGIC. I invited them to come to my zoo, but I don't know if they like riding on the train, so maybe they won't. That's OK.
I thought about how nice it would be if all animals had friendship magic, but then CARNIVORES wouldn't be OK. Either they would never eat their friends and then they would STARVE, or they would get so hungry they ate their friends and then their hearts would be BROKEN and they probably still wouldn't get enough to eat. We can't do UNIVERSAL friendship until everybody can buy food in stores.
My friend Llama-biter got a new came. She's CAPY-BRUSHER now. All the capybaras go to her when their fur gets messy, so she's their friend, and friends with all their friends. She still takes care of llamies sometimes, when she's not busy with VOLLEYBALL. She's the kids' beach volleyball CHAMPION! HURRAY CAPY-BRUSHER!
I talked lots to all the Sheep Place people and all the OCEAN people because I don't see them very much, and that was nice. I love them all bunches. We did swimming and sailing and tusssling and hunting and fishing and tickling and climbing trees and gambling and snoot-booping and LOVING TINY SQUEAK. Even the octos love Tiny Squeak, but the jaguars were the MOST loving. I was a little bit afraid they might not be nice to her, because boy wild cats sometimes aren't nice to babies, but they were REALLY nice. They gave her kisses and washed her and brought lots of treats to VV-gram and watched other people to make sure THEY were careful and gentle. It made me really HAPPY to see them being so nice. Wild animals aren't very good at taking turns, but the jaguars did a really GOOD job of it. Everybody got to spend time loving Tiny Squeak and getting tussled by Elephant Cat and the dragons and playing with lots of cats and FLIRTING with Nessie and Zora and taking NAPS. They behave really GOOD. I wonder if they're jaggies now. Maybe they are, because there are a lot of WIZARDS to take care of them. It used to be 1 Crazy Jaguar Lady, but now it's a bunch of people and they keep their town safe just like my grownups do. Good job, jaguar-petting wizards!
I won some cowries gambling, so I bought spicy BBQ fish and LEAF HATS and some seashell earrings. Humboldt can play poker now, so he tried that, and he won some money the first time but lost it all the second time, so after that he went every day to PRACTICE. I helped him memorize PROBABILITIES, but that doesn't help when people BLUFF. Nico did really good because he's good at being COOL and people don't know when he's bluffing. Vinnie-auncle said he's really GREAT and can come gamble at his casino any time. That's because in poker the gamblers win money from each other and not from Vinnie-auncle.
There was a BIG STORM on Friday, so everybody hid inside and listened to the wind and rain and hugged capybaras, but then it went away inland and we had more sunshine. Everybody in the whole town worked together clear away branches and trees and stuff that the wind knocked down, even the capybaras.
After the storm, some people said there was a DRAGON in the marsh, but not like Maa-uu or Polkadot Dragon. Everybody wanted to go see, but Tooth-mayor said only GROWN-UP WIZARDS should go in case it was dangerous. Big Sam went too, because he's really smart even if he's not a wizard. But it was OK and they came back and said it was a SPINOSAURUS. Then I knew it was my new dino and I said her name is WEMBLEY and she has to come back to my zoo. Some people weren't sure, but I looked at them really SERIOUS and then I got to go with Shoe-auncle and Number-dad to say nihao to her and tell her about riding on trains and being safe at a zoo with lots of yummy food and she thought that sounded really NICE. I had to call Tater and let him know to make room for another BIG dino!
I'm really HAPPY the new dinos are starting to show up already.
Yachi-auncle and Ψ-8-auncle and Oppo-auncle, that's the OCTOS, swam with us a whole bunch. We tried to learn MIMICKING from them, but it's really hard for people with BONES. It was really fun, though. Toka did the best, but that's because they only wanted to mimic a KITTY and their tail is already really CUTE. What a good kitty-kid!
The UNDERHIDERS and Akimori-auncle played with us a lot too, and we learned some SECRET ninja techniques. Even Max and Annabelle learned them, because they should know the FAMILY techniques. I felt a little bad that Spin and Hebichi and Secret and everybody couldn't learn, but maybe when we're grownups and get to make decisions about family techniques, we can teach more people. I know we want to not let WICKED people learn them, but I'm more worried about monsters than people.
Spin and Hebichi and I went with the Exploration Club to look at some islands. We didn't have VULTURE QUEEN JILL because she's still getting new MASTS, but we had a small ship made out of REEDS. The reeds get bundled up really TIGHT and then the ship is made out of the bundles with lots of SAP to make them waterproof. I kept worrying that the mast and rudder would get LOOSE but they didn't. EMERALD THRONE is a really good ship! We sailed to some islands and looked around, but they were islands near Sea Monster Cove that nobody lives on because they aren't interesting, so it wasn't a REAL expedition. It was fun to sail around, though. Maybe Hebichi and Spin and I will join the Exploration Club, or maybe just Hebichi and Spin will because I might get BUSY with the zoo. I don't know what to do, so I have to think about it more.
Lots of teenagers and grownups played SNOGS with the mermaids. I think being in the Exploration Club would be better.
I'm writing this on the train back home, because vacation is OVER. I'm sitting with Wembley, who got her OWN car that used to be a sheepie car. She took some medicine to help her not be ANXIOUS about the train, and Shoe-auncle and I are riding with her, and just a little while ago, Dmitri and Jean came and curled up by her neck. She's a nice spino, and I think she'll be happy at the zoo.
Pretty soon we'll get to Upside Down Mountain and change trains, and I'll see Cattail again. I hope he had a really good time at the Snowy Hoof Convention! I bet he'll be really surprised to see Wembley.
Now Cattail and I are on a DIFFERENT train, going to DRAGON-MAYOR's city. When I tried to change trains, Wembley got really ANXIOUS even though Shoe-auncle and Explorobot were still with her. I asked my parents if I could stay with her and come back to the Awake World LATER and they said it was OK because Shoe-auncle was there. I tried to get Hebichi and Spin to come with me, but their parents said NO WAY. Now I'm missing the New Year party at the neighborhood center, which makes me sad, but Wembley is OK. She's taking a NAP with kitty-snuggles, and earlier, Mama-uu read her a story from the other car. They don't fit in the same train car but I think they're getting to be friends.
Dreamlands trains don't have phones so I can't call Tater. I hope he's ready for Wembley!
