This only makes sense in American, but that may be true of Dolly Parton as well. (“In our country, we just give books to kids, it’s paid for by the government.”)

Played (Lancer): Last Stop. Character creation and arguing with Comp/Con, with a side of Vampire LARP war stories. Now we all have weirdos who live on this space station in the middle of the middle of nowhere and are weird. My character is cursed to never die and become one with the cycles of the cosmos, because Horus mechs are fundamentally unnatural. It’s great!

Written (Geometry for Mutants): 110.

Played (Lancer): Session 0 for Ash’s Lancer game that she will run for the next few months while Ken is too busy being a member of society. We picked the Sad Space Mooks defending a station in the middle of nowhere’s middle of nowhere. It will be doomed and great. I think my character is cursed to pilot this Lich.

Read (novel): The Astral Library (Kate Quinn): An extremely down-on-her-luck booklover is shooped into the Astral Library where she can pick out a book to live in for as long as she wants, but then everything goes wrong and she has to save the day. Which she does, despite not really knowing what’s going on! Yay books, yay libraries!

Read (light novel): The Goddess Beat the Final Boss in the Tutorial so Now I’m Free to Do Whatever vol 2 (Onikage Supana, Ixy): The main character continues to disrupt the world with her OP magic and need to feed the supreme goddess’s fetishes. She does unmercifully bully and forcefem an undeserving elf boy, but does save the city (kinda) and not destroy it, so uh?

Written (Geometry for Mutants): 125. Do I need to stop writing this scene?

Hopefully panettone counts.

We actually managed to gather to play boardgames during the holidays! No Kelsey, but we had Brooks and Vivian (who is less imposing than I expected, but very cyberpunk) and delicious posole, and played Terraforming Mars and Poetry For Neanderthals and a new game called Inhuman Conditions about trying to figure out whether someone is a replicant. I am not a robot, or at least Professor Herman T Schnitzelweiner isn’t. It was fun!

Read: Peach Boy Riverside vol 9 (coolkyousinnjya, Johanne): Mikoto backstory.

Written: 135.
